Meghan Markle is set to rake in some serious cash after unveiling her personalised shoppable storefront. With a range of clothing items and accessories, the Duchess will be able to earn a hefty amount of commission from ShopMy, a platform that allows fans to shop her curated wardrobe.

Meghan announced the new storefront on her Instagram stories on Monday, sharing a link to the ShopMy platform alongside the caption: “Many of you have asked, so here you go! A little shopping to start the week. More to come. Link in bio.”

And she’s likely to earn a “fortune” from the commissionable links. “She could potentially earn millions from this and is probably earning a commission on every sale she makes,” money and business coach Maddy Alexander-Grout told MailOnline.

She added: “If you take on average how many followers she has (2.6 million) and how much engagement she has, I would imagine based on her following that she will have thousands and thousands of people buying these things and she will be making a fair amount of that.

“She is going to make a fair amount based on what the clothes are worth. If she gets say 15% off a shirt that’s £128, she will be making £19.20. She will be selling thousands of those and could be making at least £19k from one linen shirt.”

The ShopMy platform has revealed exactly how its users earn money from the scheme. According to the website, ShopMy takes a “small percentage” of earnings under an “82/18 revenue share model”.

This means if Meghan makes £1,000 from commissions in a month, she will get to keep £820 while the platform retains £180. This means the Duchess is likely going to rake in a small fortune thanks to her millions of followers who have flocked to grab the items.

And the move looks to already be lucrative for the former actress. As her online shopping venture launched, some of the third-party retailers’ websites that she’d linked out to went down as they became overwhelmed with visitor numbers, including Neiman Marcus after she shared a pair of Saint Laurent tan-coloured mules that she has been spotted wearing on several occasions. But costing £595, these sandals will set you back a good penny.

The wardrobe consists of mostly neutral colours and elevated basics, including linen shirts, crewneck sweaters, sunglasses and handbags. The most expensive item is a Loro Piano Crewneck Sweater in Beige, coming in at a whopping £1,093.

While there are plenty of expensive items on the list, there are some more affordable options including a Uniqlo Trench Coat costing just under £100. There is also a matching lounge set costing £90 in total from GAP.

With commissionable links, the more expensive the item the higher the amount of commission earned – though the exact percentage varies depending on the brand. “Looking like Meghan and being like Meghan – she’s going to make a killing off people,” Alexander-Grout added.

Meghan even teased there is “more to come” on Monday as she hopes to add more items to the list. But some have criticised the move, with one social media user calling it “desperate”. A second commenter said: “Of course she wanted to monetise everything.”
